Auction item is 750ml Old Pogue Master’s Select. A small batch, 91 proof (45.5% abv.), Kentucky straight Bourbon whisky. Old Pogue was the flagship product of the original H.E. Pogue Distillery in 1876 and is also the first product released by the modern Pogue Distillery. The product was fashioned after an original bottle of Old Pogue that remained in the family for over a century. This easy-drinking bourbon can be enjoyed neat or with a small amount of ice or water. Old Pogue has been distilled since 1876 in Maysville, Kentucky (also the home of our board chair, Angela Ockerman-Jones!) near the site of Kentucky’s first bourbon distillery when it was part of Old Bourbon County, Virginia prior to Kentucky’s statehood. Today, the bourbon-making tradition is carried forward by 5th and 6th generation Pogues using time-honored formulas and still distilled on the banks of the Ohio River among historic homes of riverboat captains.
