BIO
Sally Sullivan is trained a musician having degrees from a state university in New York, and a conservatory in Manhattan. She performed as a flutist with symphony orchestras in Honolulu, Portland, OR, Fort Worth, TX, Nashville, TN and in and around Boston.
She taught music and flute at private schools and colleges in the same cities, and had a private studio of flute students.
In mid-career, while living in Massachusetts, she turned to the visual arts and beginning with large, interpretive and expressionistic canvases and works on paper, began to develop her sense of painterly abstraction. She has exhibited her work in one person shows and group shows at galleries in the Boston area. Sally’s pieces are represented in individual and corporate collections, principally on the East Coast.
